About the competition

Find teammates for the University Growth Fund's Salt Lake Venture Capital Case Competition. Teams of 2 to 4 learn to source deals, run due diligence and pitch an investment to a panel of VC judges. Four workshops are held at Utah universities and on Zoom, and recordings are posted afterwards. Official registration is on UGF's website. Register your team there by Oct 14 at 12:00 AM MT. Already have teammates? Create your team here and send them your invite link. Don't have a team yet? Make a profile, then find a team that fits or let captains find you. Open to any full-time undergraduate or graduate student. Teammates do not need to attend the same university. No venture capital experience is needed.

Prizes

$2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second and $1,000 for third. Teams that reach the final stages are paired with a local investor to prepare their final pitch.

How judging works

Teams progress on the quality of three deliverables: sourced deals, an investment memo and an investment pitch. The top 3 to 5 teams pitch at the regional semifinals, and the top team from each city presents at the national finals.

Eligibility

Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student at any college or university. Teammates do not need to attend the same school. No venture capital experience is needed.
